Pipe Organ

2023_April-organ3-web.jpg

The United Churches has a long history of love for and dedication to its pipe organ. Designed in the style of a typical French parish organ of the late 19th and early 20th century, it is intended to replicate the romantic warmth of Parisian instruments. The flue pipes were built by Stenkins in Holland and the reed pipes were built by Gieseke in Germany. The organ was assembled in 1986 by Balcom and Vaughan of Seattle, using their wind supply, slider windchests with electric pull-downs and console.

There are additions by Rene Marceau Organ Builders and Associates, of Seattle, who also performed the final voicing. Bond Organ Builders of Portland, upgraded the new console, built by Organ Supply Industries and purchased from Saint Catherine of Siena Parish Norwood, MA in 2023.

The United Churches jointly sponsors an annual Holy Week organ concert with the Olympia Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, featuring our organ and performers from the Guild.
