The
United Churches offers two different youth groups,
Middlers and
Senior High. Both groups are
coordinated by me, the smiling Youth Director, Mark Boyd. I have been a native of the Northwest all of my life and I enjoy
spending time with the youth while exploring all that God has to offer.

High/Middlers
Be sure to join with the Middlers as we venture outside whenever we can. Recently we enjoyed a rousing game of obstacle course croquet in the park. Don't forget we are serving dinner at the Salvation Army kitchen every month, so grab a friend or two and join us. The Middlers continue to gather every Tuesday evening and break bread together. Our schedule is 1st Tuesday = brown bag, 2nd = soup kitchen, 3rd= potluck, 4th= we cook, 5th = pizza & a movie. |

On Saturday April 3th our Sr High youth were spotted running
through local grocers in search of just the right items for our
Easter Brunch. We worked into the evening,
chopping, slicing and mixing. On Easter morning our Senior High youth
were at church at 7am and stayed until 2pm. We were able to
provide breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, sweets, fruits and vegetables
to many hungry worshippers. Because of the wonderful generosity we were
able to raise almost $90 after expenses. Half of that will be donated to
a local charity, with the balance going to support our youth programs.
Thank you one and all. |

| CONFIRMANDS JOURNEY | |||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Mark Boyd, Director of Youth Ministry “Can I ask you some questions about your Faith Journey?” This is the question that began the Confirmation series of retreats for our youth. Actually this is the question some of you were asked by our youth as we kicked off our 2009 Faith Journey program. And I am very pleased to announce that everyone asked said, "Yes”. By saying yes, they were agreeing to be an adult mentor with a youth to answer questions about their own faith stories. |

| Our confirmation program is open for all youth 8th grade and older who have not been confirmed. We use a series of weekend retreat to help youth discover what and where their faith is leading them. contact Mark Boyd with questions about the confirmation retreats. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| You prayed as they were born into this world, you prayed as they crawled around the church, you prayed as they snatched cookies before the coffee hour. You prayed as the were baptized, you prayed as they were being confirmed. You prayed when they participated in worship. Your prayers sustained them even when they thought no one cared. You were there! And for that reason alone you also have graduated. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
