Thanks to all of your for your efforts to help us save trees, energy, landfill and money !! We honor our spiritual covenant with the earth through our Wellspring Covenant. If you think of something we can add to our list, please let me know (cnmpat@comcast.net )

Rapid Refill Ink has provided us with a handsome recycling box which is located near the nametag rack. We receive an money for cartridges submitted.  We hope you’ll continue to bring your used printer cartridges to the church for recycling.
You have not doubt noted the appearance of new recycling containers in our Narthex and in areas that have a lot of use from our congregation and visiting groups.  This has significantly decreased by about 1/3 the amount of trash that goes into our garbage, and is making money for us. The aluminum cans and plain paper can be recycled, as well as ink jet cartridges and laser jet cartridges.
Please notice that around the church we have many recycling containers; some for paper (clean paper such as the Sunday bulletins), aluminum cans and soiled garbage. We have much less garbage as a result of our recycling practices and have not had to increase the size of our Dumpster. Make recycling a way of life!

OlyReusables
The purpose of OlyReusables is not to move free “stuff” from one person to another-- instead it’s an ecological thing, not a “get free stuff” thing.  We want to help the environment by keeping useful stuff out of our landfills, decluttering our personal environments in the process!  We work on advancing the cause of Reducing, Reusing and Recycling by asking members to offer their own free and legal stuff and to encourage their friends to reduce their consumption of stuff, to recycle as much as they can, and to gift their still-usable stuff to charities and reuse organizations such as Olympia/Thurston County OlyReusables.

The Olympia Freecycle

The Olympia Freecycle Network is open to all who want to "recycle" that special something rather than throw it away. Whether it's a chair, a fax machine, piano or an old door, feel free to post it. Or maybe you're looking to acquire something yourself!

1. The Voice available On Line saves us printing, paper and mailing costs. If you would like to receive The Voice on line, and not in the mail, please contact our office: info@theunitedchurches.org
2. Information for Communion Servers, Lay Leaders, Ushers and Greeters is available on line. This saves printing, paper and mailing costs.
3. Please recycle your paper and aluminum cans in the appropriately marked receptacles.  We recycle anything we can recycle.
4. Recycling used Inkjet Cartridges
We have also changed to a new ink jet, cell phone, and laser jet recycling company that is local, in Lacey WA. Did you know that "Every year nearly 2 billion cartridges are packed into the earth's landfills. By utilizing a remanufactured cartridge, you will be helping to save the earth...one cartridge at a time." Rapid Refill Ink: www.rapidrefillink.com will handle your needs and are helping us generate an income.
The container is colorful, waiting for your contributions. Money generated by your donations will go to the Wellspring Covenant budget for future endeavors. Please bring your used ink cartridges and just put them into the container.  There are also some coupons on the side of the container where you can go and get recycled ink jet cartridges for your printers.  We are excited about this new opportunity to recycle items we all use, instead of filling the landfill.

5. Recycling used computers
If you know of someone that recycles computers, let us know.
6. Sharing our abundant garden overflow with our congregations. Many in our congregation grow their own vegetable garden, and buy locally, from the Farmer's Market, or local Community Gardens.
7. Using paper for coffee instead of Styrofoam cups. We are working towards using ceramic cups for all our events, as ceramic is best !!
8. Remember the Building Materials Drop off Center
at the Hawks Prairie Transfer Station.  They accept good reusable building materials of all sorts are then sold at the Sound Builders Re-Source store downtown, which is run by Habitat for Humanity. The whole operation keeps perfectly good stuff out of the landfill, and provides lower cost materials for folks, and benefits HFH.  Here's the link for more information:
