Peace Crafters

Karen will meet with who ever wants to come every Monday at 1:00 and go till 4:00 or so. I plan to also meet every Wednesday evening from 6:00 till 9:00 or till people are ready to quit if later.

T shirt with Beads_1Here are a few pictures of shirts with beads. I don't have any pictures of bread baskets right now or of jewelry or of shirts with buttons. We are going to suggest that people bring a tee shirt that they already have or they can buy one of the many new ones that I have from sizes small to 3X. I have some for $2, $4, $6 and from $9.00 to $13 for the 1x to 3x ones. Or they can bring what ever craft they want to work on including knitting or crochet or even mending. We can teach knitting and crocheting.

It is the intention that each person will be make one item (it takes 20 minutes to do a shirt) T shirt with beads_2for the Alternative Giving Fair, or if they have no affiliation with the church, one item for a charity of their choice. After that they can make things for themselves, others or to sell if that is what they want to do.

If they use one of the provided tee shirts to make for the Alternative Giving Fair or beads for jewelry they will not need to pay anything. Beads for a shirt would be probably 50 cents unless they put on lots and lots of them. Of course they can bring their own beads. If they want to sew, they should bring their sewing machine. We will only charge what the supplies cost us (no profit for us).

T shirt with beads_3We will probably do a theme item each month starting in September such as a Halloween tee shirt in September and something for Thanksgiving in October and prayer beads probably in January. The first time we meet we will teach doing a tee shirt and or a bracelet if they want some instruction.

Our theme night teaching will be on the first week of the month I think.

Seventeen people will fit in my crafts room and we can also use the kitchen table, dining room table and card tables if we have tons of people. The knitters and crocheters can sit in the living room or family room or if the weather is nice, outside if the crafts room is full or they don't want to sit in there.

Of course we are hoping that lots of the crafts will be used for the alternative giving fair and that if people sell things part of their profits will go to something like the pastors fund. I know Karen gives all of her profits to the pastors fund I think. If I do sell things I will give part of my profits to Beginning Experience and the pastors fund. The idea of Peace Crafters is to do things to benefit others in some way.
