Rev. Dr. Tammy Stampfli, Interim Pastor
Greetings New Friends at the United Churches! At United Churches, we welcome everyone, no matter where they are on their journey of life. We would like you to find a place to call your own here with us. I am the Interim Pastor. I have just celebrated 22 years of ordained ministry. Prior to receiving my Master of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary, my husband Tim and I served as program directors for Presbyterian Camps. I’ve served churches in Washington, Oregon and California. I received my Doctorate of Ministry from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. My door is always open and I look forward to our journey together!

Youth Blog
I am a northwest native, born in 1957 in Mountain Home, Idaho, outside of Boise. I grew up in Puyallup and moved to Olympia in 1969. I have seen Olympia grow and prosper as well as grow and stumble. I began attending The United Churches after my own search for a church home as an adult. I have taught Sunday School, been a member of the Personnel Ministry, assisted with Youth programs and confirmation, Habitat for Humanity, helped at Bread Roses and The Emergency Overflow Shelter. It was at the Saturday service that I proposed to my wife Julie. My family consists of Jason, Ryan, Nicole and Mathew. Having four adult children and their friends have helped me to understand the needs and struggles of youth.
Sandi Trudeau, Church Administrator
I am our Church Administrator. I come with many years of experience in office management, human resources, marketing and advertising and support of staff. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Washington State University in Sociology in 1976. In 2008 I married Nelson Trudeau and together we are the proud parents of four children and twelve grandchildren. I enjoy being a part of The United Churches and feels it is my home away from home.

My musical background includes training in piano, organ, voice, and violin at the University of Puget Sound, where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. I hold a Master of Music in Music Education from the University of Idaho, and have post-graduate training in advanced conducting, choral and instrumental methods, voice, jazz choir, music technology, and church music. In addition to my first and most important career as a Mom to three lovely, now-adult, daughters, Heather Pierson, Heidi Morton and Roberta Bottelli, I have been privileged to serve as a K-12 music educator in several school districts in both Idaho and Washington. Beginning in 1986, I served as an adjunct music instructor at Centralia College. In that position I produced and directed four Broadway musicals, and was the founding conductor of the Pacific Northwest Chamber Orchestra, retiring in 2009. I am honored to work with the dedicated volunteer singers and instrumentalists of TUCO, and look forward to many glorious musical experiences throughout the coming worship seasons.
Sid Olson, Bookkeeper
I was born in Minnesota but was raised in the Lakewood area just south of Tacoma. I was a Lutheran until I joined the United Churches as a Presbyterian around 1974. I worked for the state Department of Social and Health Services from 1970 until I retired in 2000. I began my part time bookkeeping work at TUCO in November of 2001. I have been very active at TUCO, serving as Clerk of the Presbyterian Session and of the federated (with the UCC) Church Council. I have twice been Moderator of Council, most recently in 2000. I have been married to my wife Ann since 1965. We have two grown children and three grandchildren. I am an avid hiker and walker, and enjoy keeping up my yard where we have lived for more than 30 years.

Children’s Blog
I was born in Eugene, Oregon and lived in California, Washington, Iowa and Idaho during my younger years. I went to Community College in Seattle, and lived there for several years working in child-care and home health.
In 1995 I graduated from Western Washington University in 1995, with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. I then pursued my interest in ethics by entering seminary in that same year. I attended the Pacific School of Religion from 1995-1996 and received a certificate of theological studies. I spent the year following the certification in Federal Way, WA, working at Saint Francis Hospital as a surgery scheduler and pre-operational counselor and and a home health scheduler. This piqued my interest again in ethics, specifically bio-ethics.I went back to the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA, and graduated in 1998 with a Master’s degree in Pastoral care and theology.
In 2000, I moved to Spokane, Washington and was working toward my Master’s of Divinity at Gonzaga while also working as a chaplain at a local hospital. I also worked for Habitat for Humanity as a resource coordinator, and was still there when I had Gabriel and Michael in March of 2002, and they were very premature and in unstable and precarious health, I became a stay at home mom for the next several years, putting aside other pursuits.
I have been with The United Churches of Olympia since 2007 working in Christian Education. I married Jim Johnson in December 2007. I am happy to be with the United Churches and its wonderful community of people, I have learned a lot and have appreciated the many opportunities that have come my way.
