All-Church Camping and Get Together

Jarrell Cove State Park

June 28 – 29, 2008

Mark your calendars and make your reservations at Jarrell Cove State Park for Saturday night, June 28th if you would like to join us for a camping weekend at the park. We’ll have games, kayaking, a potluck dinner and campfire together. If you cannot spend the night come for the day. It is on Harstine Island, @ 40 miles from Olympia. All are welcome!

More Coffee Hosts and Snack Providers Needed!

If you enjoy the food and fellowship time after the 11am service, and are not already a host or snack provider and are able-bodied, we need you! All I ask is to serve 2 Sundays a year. There are Sundays unfilled and this means no food is provided during the fellowship time. Call Debbie Nickerson at 754-5397 or email her at debranick@gmail.com to sign up. It’s not a matter of IF, it’s a matter of WHEN.

Congregational Life Ministry

Here are the many responsibilities of the Congregational Life Ministry:

1. To coordinate the various activities and programs (ministries) of The United Churches of Olympia involving members families and friends;

2. To welcome newcomers and visitors, encouraging and helping them toward membership in the church family;

3. To reach out to others in the Olympia community who might be attracted, persuaded, invited by the example and loving and witness of the people of this Christian community;

4. To foster family unity throughout the congregation with a variety of participatory activities for enjoyment and/or enrichment of Christian faith and life;

5. To encourage everyone, to the extent they can or are willing to do so, to take an active and responsible part in the work and worship and outreach of The United Churches and our two denominations;

6. To develop a stronger sense of community;

7. To strengthen family life.
