Coffee Fellowship Duties

Thanks for offering to host for our coffee fellowship time. Having two or even three people is encouraged.

  • Arrive about 1/2 hour prior to service-
  • Provide 4- 5 dozen snack items, juice, and 1/2 1/2,(powder is available too if not bringing 1/2n1/2)
  • Clear and clean off snack table in Narthex from prior service. Set up some tables in the Narthex that allow for good movement and conversation.
  • Make 4 pots of coffee. Wait for green light on coffee maker before adding water. One decaf (has red lettering on front of pot- Coffee making instructions in drawer above where coffee pots are stored. (cupboards on outside area of kitchen).
  • Put hot water in carafe, for tea (scalding water from sink nozzle. Set out tea bags, stirring sticks, sugar, sweetener, cream, cups (both ceramic and hot paper cups). Bring cream OR use cream packets/containers.
  • Set out small juice paper cups for juice.
  • Turn on and fill dishwasher (with prior dirty cups, etc) so it has time to heat to correct temperature. Follow the instructions for dishwasher located above dishwasher
  • Arrange snack items on platters/plates as preferred
  • IF nuts or peanut butter is in items please label as necessary
  • Attend service if you have time
  • Clean-up –Put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and Leave kitchen clean and in good order.
  • Frequently 2nd service dirties can be added to dishwasher from first service coffee hour- Week-end custodian will place room back in order.

Snack provider/ helper: Provide 4/5 dozen snack items OR work w/Host and share what is brought

Approximate Time Commitment: 30 minutes prior to worship service and 30 minutes following the service.
Duties: Make/set up coffee and snacks. Clean up service area and kitchen.
Good Fit: Those who like to cook and understand the importance of a good cup of hot coffee.
