Every year our church gathers at Pilgrim Firs on the Kitsap Peninsula to share in fellowship and nature in an an annual retreat. It’s a time for the entire church family to laugh, play and even sit quietly together. The retreat is a wonderful opportunity community building, renewed faith, fellowship, and fresh-air! It’s a time for the whole church to share in the wonder of God’s creation with music, crafts, worship and prayer. We enjoy delicious meals and comfortable accommodations in this peaceful and rustic camp.
In 2013, we invite our church members to:
An Altar in the Woods
When: August 23-25, 2013
Where: Pilgrim Firs
With Barbara Brown Taylor’s An Altar in the World as our guide, our church members and friends are invited to share in a unique retreat experience to discover the holy in our everyday lives. Inspired by these words, we will explore and discover those practices that connect us with God and with each other. We’ll experiment with getting lost in the woods, hanging clothes on the clothesline, walking, encountering each other and even being aware of our own skin as we encounter God as individuals and in community. As young and old, we’ll pay attention to those practices that allow us to be so aware of holiness of God that we want to build an altar right there in the woods.
Registration information for the 2013 All Church Retreat will be available soon.
