Rev. Komura steps in as Administrative Pastor after serving as Interim Associate Pastor for The United Churches of Olympia. She is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in history and literature at the University of California at Davis; a J.D. at the University of Washington in Seattle, an M.S. in Counseling at Johns Hopkins University of Baltimore, and an M.Div. at Seattle University’s School of Theology and Ministry. She spent some years working in law and teaching on both coasts before returning to the Pacific Northwest. Prior to coming to The United Churches of Olympia in a pastoral role, Jill served as a Staff Chaplain in the telemetry, neurology, and behavioral health units at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. She maintains her certification as a Board Certified Chaplain with the American Association of Professional Chaplains. In addition to her Administrative Pastor role at TUCO, Jill also works regularly as a facilitator for one of several Clergy Communities of Practice organized by the Pacific Northwest Conference of The United Church of Christ. As a member of The United Churches of Olympia, she serves on the Congregational Circles Ministry, whose role is to tend to congregational circles of Fellowship, Service, and Welcome.
