SETTING UP FOR 8:15 SERVICE
Arrive at 7:15 A.M.
Coffee Machine is in closet in hallway—move into Fireside Room, plug in & turn
on
Unlock upstairs doors
Unlock downstairs door ( keep locked while tent city is in parking lot)
Turn on lights—by front doors, inside door of chapel, in sanctuary, behind where
coats are hung in hallway, by custodian closet, in Fireside Room
Open office lobby door—bulletins are by the copy machine labeled 8:15 service &
there is an attendance slip which Steve Robb does if he is there
Move 2 small tables by door inside of chapel—depending how the chairs are set up
either side by side or the shorter one in front
Set up round table in narthex for coffee—either in corner of narthex or in
cupboard in the chapel
Move welcome table from the wall to over by the column across from front door
Check chairs—sometimes the back rows are shoved together, every Sunday we come
they are somewhat in a different arrangement, Mark prefers them curved not in
straight rows
Hymnals—double check with bulletins to make sure they are correct ones—the first
Sunday of every month they are switched between the UCC hymnal & the
Presbyterian hymnal for the month—place on chairs (2 chairs & then skip a
chair). Jim always did every other but people seem to want hymnals over Bibles.
Bibles-place on chairs that do not have hymnals
Black book—end of each row—make sure each has pen or pencil & enough sheets in
it
Bulletins—some Sundays there is enough for every chair, other Sundays you have
to skip some chairs, it just depends on how many are printed or how the chairs
are arranged. The oversized ones have the songs printed so those usually go on
the chairs with the Bibles.
Collection plates—2 on front table, they are in the closet with the black books
and the Bibles.
